Dear Ride Manager:

 

USA Pacific South International Endurance, Inc is a non profit organization that promotes and supports international endurance riders from our PS Zone.  As you know, our Pac South Team won the Gold Medal at the North American Endurance Championship in October 2005 held in Fairhill, Maryland. And our endurance friends in the Pacific North Zone won the Silver Medal at that same event.  We are proud of these accomplishments and want to continue to encourage excellence in 100 mile events.  For this reason, USA Pac South has recently decided to give $150 to all 100 mile Ride Managers in our PS Zone for the purpose of supporting and encouraging Team Competition as part of their planned 100 mile rides in 2007.  The funds are to be used to provide awards to the top three teams successfully completing your ride according to the Team Rules attached.  We encourage you to supplement these funds with a $10/person team entry fee along with and any other funds that you may be able to contribute for team awards. All we ask in return is two things: 1) follow the team rules (below) and 2) mention that Pacific South, Inc. is helping to sponsor 100 mile team riding in our region.  Please join us in promoting team riding at your ride.  It is good for the horses, fun for the riders, and it helps promote Excellence in US Endurance, a common goal for all.

 

 

For your convenience the attached rules are provided on a word document form that can be easily adopted and customized for your ride.  We hope this is helpful.

100 Mile Endurance Ride

RIDE AS A TEAM!!!!!  WIN AWARDS!!!!!

 

USA Pacific South International Endurance, Inc. (www.pacificsouth.org) in cooperation with the “your ride name yippee yahoo endurance ride” is pleased to provide Team Awards to participating riders in the 100 mile event.    Prizes offered are  ( – list your prizes here if you want e.g first place team wins rump rugs, second place wins halters, etc)

 

 

Team Award Rules

The top three 100 mile teams win awards.

  1. A team is comprised of a minimum of 3, maximum of 4, individual horses and riders. 
  2. Riders must announce the team in writing prior to the start of the race and submit to the Ride Manager (sign up below)
  3. At least 3 of the 4 riders/horses must successfully complete the 100-mile course in order to qualify for a team award.
  4. The 4th and slower or non-completing member of a completing team also wins their team award
  5. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams are ranked by combined completion times of their 3 fastest riders.
  6. If only 2 members of a team cross the finish line they are no longer a team and do not win team awards
